This research was aimed at establishing the long-term effects of podcast advertising on a consumer’s intent to buy a product. In the research study, five prominent brands were used. After the advertisement, approximately over 60% of podcast candidates preferred a specific grocery brand.


  • Independent brand responsiveness marked a great improvement after the research. This was a 47% increase. The said financial services product marked a huge improvement.


  • On the other side, a car after market commodity garnered 37% increase on brand recall and preference while a grass garden product garnered 24% increase.


  • The other side of the test is the post research step where over one third of the podcast respondents aired positive remarks on a car aftermarket purchase. This was a positive response given that the initial count was 18%.


  • The post research indicated that 22% of the podcast candidates were almost convinced to use a certain garden product. This was a positive response too given that the initial figure was 16%.


  • For a car promotion, there was positive response following an aftermarket product. The preference rate was at 60%. Finally, a conventional dining restaurant gained prominence by garnering 76%.

The research campaign conducted by Edison Research was split into three segments. The mechanism for conducting this research was standard for all brands. Norman Pattiz Reveals the Advertisement Test Results on PodcastOne Network

Norman Pattiz, the Chairman of PodcastOne, declared the results of Brand Lift Studies conducted on its network. Edison Research, a leading research company in Podcast environment, conducted the comprehensive results with five prominent consumer brands that are selling different products.

The research that took the data of both pre-study period and post-study period conducted in the later half of 2016. Interestingly, the tests showed that the network could display significant impacts on intent to purchase, recall of specific messaging, and brand recall.

The press release from the firm showed that more than 60% of listeners could spot a specific grocery brand after the advertisement campaign, it was showing a 7% increase compared to pre-study period.

Unaided product awareness also significantly increased for all brands during the post-campaign period. It showed 47% rise in the case of financial service product, 24% for a lawn product, and a 37% for an automobile product.

Also, one-third people responded “very favorably” for the vehicle aftermarket product, an increase from 18% reported before campaign. The garden and lawn brand got “very likely” consideration from 22% of the respondents after the campaign, compared to 16% noted in the pre-campaign period.

Specific campaign message awareness in the case of the automobile product rose by 60% during the advertisement campaign, and a casual restaurant could make a 76% increase.

Edison Research conducted three sets of studies in 2016 to arrive the results analyzing the effectiveness of advertising in PodcastOne network featuring five national brands. While some of these are reputed, well-known brands, others are recently-introduced and lesser-known ones.

The campaign for each brand ran for a period of 4-6 weeks, and it showed that podcast listeners are receptive to different types brand messages and willing to consider the products.
