Upholding civil, human, and immigrant rights through groups such as Frontera Fund

It is always better to find out that you are living in a society that respects all human rights despite race, gender, or your geographical background. For many years, women rights have championed by many activists groups. Those groups have also been championing the civil and human rights of the immigrants.

Amazon Watch will be the best example of the group championing the immigrants’ civil and human rights. This group bases its operations in the Amazon Basin, and their headquarters are found in San Francisco. They have an association with groups dealing with environmental issues and native people to ensure that there is progress when it comes to matters involving rights of the native folks.

This came up due to the rapid advancement of oil and gas industries, and natives felt that they were being left out. Another group will be the Coalition for Humane Immigrants’ rights (CHIRLA). This group was formed in 1986 and it is based in California. It champions the democratic rights of individuals and families who want to exercise in the democratic processes.

They spearhead the move for all the people. Immigrants included being able to enjoy democratic rights. This came about by the 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act. The act made it impossible for workers to be hired especially those who did not have papers. This instigated exploitation and abuse of the immigrant workers.

There are the Advocates for Human Rights group. It was formed to protect human rights for all people all over the world. This group has been active for the last 30 years and still are trying to uphold the rights of women, children, and immigrants. Larkin and Lacey have associations with the local groups to the international level. Furthermore, there is the ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project. Their main intent is to uphold the immigrant rights both civil and human. They deal with the law of human rights thoroughly, in fact, they are the biggest litigation process group in the USA. This is possible because of its involvement with Judiciary on the human rights issue.

There are also two individuals who have been spearheading the issue of human and civil rights for immigrants in their way. Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin are co-founders of the notable Frontera Fund, Phoenix New Times, and Village Voice Media.

The Frontera Fund was founded after these two selfless journalists won a settlement case against Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Through this Fund, they have been on the frontline of the fight to uphold rights through funding organizations which fight the same.

One night, these two were arrested and jailed for writing an article that did not sit well with the lawman Arpaio. The grand jury did not well receive the article that further went to subpoena the list of readers of the New Times who had their eyes on the article online concerning Arpaio.

Since winning the case, Lacey and Larkin have continued their fight to champion the First Amendment Rights. The money they won was about $3.75 million, and it has been used for a positive cause. It has funded groups all over Arizona and on the Mexican Birder who are trying to champion the civil, human and immigrant rights.

Boraie Is Rebuilding New Jersey In Their Vision

Boraie Development is the prime real estate development company that is reshaping otherwise depressed areas of New Jersey. New Brunswick, which is where their headquarters is located, is where the majority of their investments have been made. Their properties include retail space, office space, high-rise apartments and residential developments.

Omar Boraie (who is now 72-years-old) and his family members lead the company to make groundbreaking developments in the state. He is an Egyptian immigrant that had arrived in New Jersey for the sole purpose of finishing his chemistry degree. When he had traveled to Europe in the 1970’s he had fallen in love with the latest architecture found there. He imagined reviving New Brunswick with buildings that resemble those that he had seen during his trip. When he started the company, he had begun restoring 21 properties in New Brunswick to revive the metro area.

Omar began developing at a time where nobody thought of putting high-rise buildings in the center of town. Many thought he was crazy, his property investments had shown otherwise. The town was in desperate need of residential buildings in the center of town since nearly everybody commuted to work during the day and left it deserted by the evening. Nowadays, the downtown area never sleeps thanks to the amount of businesses and apartments that had opened up.

The Aspire apartment complex is the finest example of architecture that the company has brought to New Brunswick. These apartments are near the train station, the main hospital and retail stores. The apartment has many amenities that you may expect in a luxury hotel. There is a concierge service, a gym, a public swimming pool, laundry rooms, private parking, restaurants and retail shops. For those looking for more of a quiet family atmosphere, The Estates at Waverly Place may be more fitting. This development of luxury homes is located in the small town of Montgomery, New Jersey. Each home has its own unique design and comes with an entire acre of land. The neighborhood is located near many schools, hospitals and retail stores, which make it ideal for a family. These estates are in a strategic location so that the buyer can drive to New York City or Philadelphia within just a short drive. It is also near the metro station so that trains to different parts of the East Coast are accessible.
